About the Town

Information about what the town has to offer

The Beautiful Riverside Town of Upton upon Severn

Upton has a wealth of independent shops, businesses and services throughout the town. As a tourist town the businesses thrive through the summer months and are happy for visitors to greet them at their door.

Heritage & History

Upton dates back to the times of Oliver Cromwell and you only have to look at the buildings about the High Street to see its 17th Century architecture. Once a big trading and market town with the use of the River Severn, you will now be used to seeing more pleasure cruisers instead of shipping merchants travelling down the river. There is plenty of information to be found in the Tudor House Museum and Heritage Centre in the town, they can also inform you of guided walks to explain more about the towns history, by knowledgeable volunteers.
